PTFE is an excellent material to use in the construction
of temperature probes.PTFE material has an extremely high intrinsic purity: this is due to the use of a free radical initiation process without the need for additives such as plasticisers, extenders or stabilizers. The resultant material is used in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, chemical, combinatorial chemistry, flow/level metering and biomedical industry for the purity value PTFE provides.
PTFE Temperature Probes Withstand Harsh EnvironmentsMastco's temperature probes are chemically inert, provide excellent electrical insulation, and are seamless to prevent passage of moisture without compromising reliability or precision. Our bonding method of fusing the probe's body and PTFE oversheath (cable) insures the sensor will not be damaged or destroyed from moisture, harsh chemicals, or even liquid nitrogen.
The probe and cable have the identical chemical resistance at temperatures from -200° C to 280° C (-328°F to 536°F). Platinum RTDs, thermistors, IC chips, or thermocouples allow integration with a wide range of monitoring equipment for optimum accuracy in numerous applications.
